Transformer Netbook Hub

Is there no end to new Transformer gadgets? Apparently not, as we found this Qosmio Netbook-looking 4-port USB 2.0 hub. The hub has a phony image of the Windows XP desktop on the display and is available in Japan for ¥3,980 (~$42.00.) We expect it won't be too long before someone will actually come up with a real transforming laptop.

Terry Gilliam Flicks Feature Robotics

Fans of Monty Python should also follow the films of Terry Gilliam. We recently rescreened a couple of them. "Brazil" features some rather early robotic efforts by the artist as well as one of Robert DeNiro's best roles. "Baron von Munchausen" features a rather gruesome robotic bird and fish and an unforgettable Robin Williams performance that even the kids will love. The talented Jonathan Pryce is in both of them.

Remy's Nike Transformers Step Up

Transformers are always popping up somewhere, but this is the first time we have seen them as footwear, well almost. You can't really wear them, but wouldn't it be something to be able to run towards danger instead of away from it? Check out Remy's Transformers that include gaming controllers, vehicles and keychains.

Tomy's Transformer Robo-Qs

Remember the Robo-Q? Tomy enjoyed their success with the tiny robots so much that they have expanded their line with non-transforming Optimus Prime and Bumblebee in honor of the movie "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen." Standing about 1.3" tall, they are coming out in Japan early next year at a price of about ¥4200 (~$42.00.)

Must Have: The Gunslinger

One of our absolute fave movie bots was played by Yul Brynner. Known in the movies "Westworld" and
only as "The Gunslinger," he was as scary as they come. We have made the endearing Wall-E and Pleo as our Must Haves, but we think it is time that one of the evil ones gets credit, too. If you have never seen these 70's movies, now is the time. Although they do not have the advanced CGI and effects as current ones, how can you resist this guy? Head to YouTube for more clips if you aren't convinced.
