Bombbot Recovers Suspect Coffee Mug
Once again a bomb squad robot is sent out as hero. Spokane sent their bombot out to a downtown parking lot Friday when a to-go mug was discovered that seemed heavier than normal to a 911 caller. While the device was found not to be a danger, the Bomb Squad was nonetheless wary after a suspicious backpack was discovered last Monday.

Ok .. talk about overkill. They find a 'suspicious' backpack a week before so they automatically assume a heavier than normal coffee mug is a dangerous threat? Come on. This sounds more to be idiotic PR work than anything else. "Oooh, look what our fancy bomb robot can do! Look look look! See, your tax dollars really are used for more than just lining the local politician's and police chief's pockets!". In either case, (the backpack or coffee mug), was anything found? Of course not.
